Micro Distillation Process

Micro distillation is generally referring to small batches of specialty liquor. Beer and wine micro brewing trends in the United States has led to a boom in micro distilling. Flavored seasonal vodkas are the most popular liquor produced by micro distilleries. Because of micro distilleries small batch and equipment there is more opportunity to experiment with flavors. However, micro distilleries are much more heavily regulated than microbreweries. The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau enforce all the Federal laws pertaining to the production of alcohol.

 Micro fractional distillation also falls into this category requiring the use of specialty equipment. This type of equipment has the ability to distill small quantities of liquid, less than 5ml, into separate fractions. This is useful when working with rare and expensive liquids. This is also useful to the essential oil, chemical engineering, and crude oil industries.
